Japanese Prime Minister congratulates the President.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Issuing a special congratulatory message to the President the Prime Minister has stated that he extend his heartfelt greetings to the President on behalf of the Government and the people of Japan and further said that he is pleased that President Ranil Wickremesinghe succeeding to the nation’s highest office, who has been dedicated for the economic and social development of Sri Lanka for a long period of time.

Expressing confidence in the leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe to create political stability in the country, the Japanese Prime Minister anticipates that the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund and the debt restructuring process will proceed successfully.

The Japanese Prime Minister is confident that through economic stability and administrative reforms, the country will overcome the current challenges very soon and further said that as a service center in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka can become a successful state. Recalling the 70 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, the Prime Minister added that Japan is keen to work together with President Ranil Wickremesinghe to enhance Japan -Sri Lanka bilateral ties and to develop the concept of Free and Open Indo-Pacific region.
