United National Party General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, National Organizer Sagala Ratnayake and Party Chief Executive Officer Shamal Senarath welcomed the President who arrived at the party headquarters.
The President mentioned that everyone is allowed to engage in peaceful protests according to the law of the country, those who were involved in the struggle also have the same right and he saw the participation of young people with different talents.
Stating that he assumed the presidency at a time when the country was in a very difficult situation, the President also said that he has taken many steps to overcome the economic challenge and move the country forward.
